Home from work today, not too busy in the income tax department just yet. So here I sit watching the snow fall curled up with a nice warm blanket and a cup of tea…and the Veseys Seeds catalogue. Danger, Danger!
Oh, how I love the Veseys catalogue!
Decisions, decisions. I’ve had a copy for about a month now and it’s well-worn. I’ve flipped through it at least 100 times so far, dog-eared a few pages, circled some things I’d like to purchase…had even packed it to travel with me over the holidays.
The photos, the colours, the descriptions! Oh the anticipation for gardening season – so very exciting!
Just before fall set in we extended the vegetable garden another ten feet or so. We mean business this year! I am so looking forward to growing more produce to pickle…it’s an obsession, really. But more to come on pickling later.
Looking this year to add a few more varieties of peppers – hot ones, different beans, some pumpkins/gourds and some raspberries – along with the usuals. The less I have to buy the better.
So here’s my recommendation for the day: If you find yourself feeling a tad bit on the cabin fever side of things, as I find myself today, grab a Veseys Seeds catalogue, or any seed catalogue really, and have a look. If you’re like me it will satisfy your gardening urges…okay maybe not fully, but it’s a start.

Our local shops have started to put out seed packets–I’ve been stocking up. Makes these last days of winter go by much faster to dream of the spring garden, right?
