My Dearest Gay,

Just a little note to say thank you – thank you for all your gardening help and inspiration over the years. You may not know this but you are my mentor in the gardening department.

You are such a big influence on how I garden. You’ve taught me to try new ideas and to not have limitations – to dream big. You have taught me to listen to my garden and tend to its needs and wants. And how to find joy in nature.

You have opened my eyes to so many different methods of gardening… especially when you took me to my first Canada Blooms, my mind was blown! So much creativity! We had so much fun that day, those memories I will cherish forever.

You also have helped spark my love of houseplants and my love of Orchids (although I can’t keep an Orchid alive for whatever reason but I do try). The Philodendron you gave me, for my 30th birthday, didn’t like the move but is now growing like a weed – I talk to it… it’s my favourite and I think it knows that!

And when we get together for visits talking to you about plants and gardening is always my favourite thing.

You are truly an inspiration to me!
