Changing the lyrics to songs can be a fun and creative game! So, I’ve changed the lyrics to a fun old-school song from my childhood; I think everyone probably knows it. It’s to reflect a relationship I have with a specific food crop.
As many of you know, I love hot peppers; I grow only hot peppers each year in my garden. I don’t love eating them, haha, but canning them and making fun, hot and spicy jams, jellies and hot sauces.
To the tune of Black Betty by Ram Jam, I present to you – Hot Peppers.
Whoa! hot peppers (wham!-ba-lam)
Whoa! hot peppers (wham!-ba-lam)
Whoa! hot peppers (wham!-ba-lam)
Hot peppers aren’t mild (wham!-ba-lam)
The damn things are wild (wham!-ba-lam)
Don’t get them in your eyes (wham!-ba-lam)
Damn things make ya blind (wham!-ba-lam)
I said Oh! Hot peppers (wham!-ba-lam)
Whoa! Hot peppers (wham!-ba-lam)

I mean, you’re welcome! I hope this little ditty brightens your day and maybe gets the wheels turning to make up some fun renditions of your own!

P.S. My favourite Weird Al song is “The White Stuff”. What’s yours?
Love your new song…❤️
