Fall in my gardens this year was a sad state of affairs.
The word disaster comes to mind:
D – Determined is what I was in the beginning until…
I – Ivy, as in poison. And we all got it after working in the side garden.
S – Slack is what happened after the heat set in.
A -Ashamed is what I feel because I’ve let things get overgrown.
S – Stung is what happened to Dan after planting and finding a hornet’s nest in the ground.
T – Tire, as in spare, is what I’ve grown instead of beautiful plants.
E – Energy is what I’m lacking. I’d rather nap (working on that!).
R – Regret is what I have for not getting the job done.
Around the house, we only have four flower beds and a tiny raised box for pepper plants. And that’s it. This year, I’ve turned a blind eye to the lot. I haven’t had the energy or drive to work the beds like I used to (this is quickly turning into a pity party, lol).

Time to smarten up, lady! (face slap, face slap).
So, I’m going to order some seed/plant catalogues. Pick up some magazines and head to Pinterest! Do a little dive into what I’d like the gardens to look like and make a vision board. I’ll also include a certain small, enthusiastic helper in the plans. And pray to Mother Nature for a cooler spring to get the work done!

P.S. What motivates you to garden? Drop me a line!
